The Historical Society of Washington, D.C.'s 2013 Legacy Gala honored the Quander and Saul families. The event, held at the Society's home in the Carnegie Library building at Mt. Vernon Square, also marked the reopening of the "Window to Washington" exhibit (including more than 25 newly curated artworks). New acquisitions to the collections were displayed in the Kiplinger Research Library, and guests were introduced to the Urban Photography Series, a grant-funded project which was launched by the Society in spring 2013.Speakers: HSW chair Julie Koczela; emcee Mark Plotkin; Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice Paul Quander; Dr. Ida Jones of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University; honoree Rohulamin Quander; 2012 honoree Austin H.
